This really sums up my own teaching philosophy in so many words. For me teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and also touches a heart.

• The good teacher knows and understands students

• believe a good teacher must also understand motivation and the effects of peer interactions on learning.

• The good teacher must know her subjects and how to help students learn those subjects

• A good teacher cannot begin or continue to inspire learning without being a learner

• believe a teacher is the most powerful of role models

• believe in the power of questions and questioning strategies to cause thinking lives to serve.
